I provided abstract models for Artist Leon Lin, who is the director and main producer of the film Pseudosynthesis, a film about emotional expression in performance, embodied cognition, and how that translates to the digital space. A dancer performs according to different emotions, and the movements are recorded in Rokoko, a motion capture software, to make characters move.
The flow, tantacles, and swirling patterns of the models exaggerates the choreography’s emotions. A synthetic world of artificialliy generated forms that are nonexistent in rea life is portrayed realistically in a studio light setting.
